"First time trying this place! It was absolutely delicious! I got the Chicharrones de Pollo, Arroz con Gandules, y Tostones (Fried Chicken, Rice & Lentils, and Fried Plaintains). I love that they had music playing in the background. If you want authentic Puerto Rican food, you have to try this place."

"La Garita let me down tremendously this day. I was so disappointed because I drove all the way across town, only to be let down. I've been dining here off and on since 2009, and this was the worst food I've ever had from them. Everything is usually finger licking good, but everything was bland and flavorless this time. The meat tasted as if it wasn't even seasoned. I hate leaving bad reviews, but the best thing I ate was the salad. The service is always great, and the atmosphere was lively. They had great music playing while I was waiting."

"This is a great place to get some good food. We got the fried pork and they were perfectly fried. The beans were fantastic! The plantains were traditionally prepared and the rice was very standard fair. We will be eating here again as the food was great!"

"Let's start with the food. It definitely reminded me of PR and was very flavorful. The service was great and the atmosphere was cozy, it even had domino tables! My recommendation would be to play different variety of latin music, my experience was all Juan Luis Guerra so the music made it less interesting. Also, add more decorations that represent Puerto Rico I saw great opportunities to make this place shine. Highly recommend you stop by and try them out!"
